leather all need to go through some type of chemical process to make it suitable to work with. But really, my main concern with PU Leather would be comfort and durability compared to genuine leather. PU Leather can begin to crack and crease in only a few years. Genuine leather gives you breath-ability, strength, elasticity, retention, flexibility, softness, and durability. And from an upholsterers viewpoint, workability including the shrinkage process with a heat gun or moisture. Genuine leather gives you the added benefit of aging gracefully with developed patina and wrinkles and stretch marks. |
