As a general rule furniture built pre 80’s is better built and had more style. You can find true

estimate. This will give you some negotiating room. For instance you don’t want to spend

Often those vintage sofas need the springs retied, joints reglued and all new padding and
fabric. This can be costly.
On the other hand a master craftsman can take a vintage sofa and restore it, maybe even
update it, add all new padding according to your comfort level and cover it with a modern
fabric to give you a stylish and unique piece of furniture.
